PURPOSE: A slip determining device is provided to enable the determination of slip using only a work roll since the change of current and linear velocity is compared with a standard value. CONSTITUTION: A slip determining device comprises a sensor unit(110), a signal processing unit, and a slip determining unit(310). The sensor unit senses the rotation of a work roll. The signal processing unit calculates the change between a sensing signal inputted from a sensor unit and a sensing signal inputted in advance and compares the change with a standard value. The slip determining unit determines slip according to the comparison result from the signal processing unit.
