PURPOSE: An antenna matching method in a portable terminal and an apparatus thereof capable of obtaining transmission power gain are provided to accurately match antennas by determining TMN setting value in consideration of the location of a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal determines a TMN(Tunable Matching Network) setting value(101,103). The portable terminal applies the determined setting value to the TMN circuit. The portable terminal records RF parameters in an antenna-matched state(105). The portable terminal searches for an optimum location(107). The portable terminal supplies an optimum location to a user(109).
