PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiver and a channel scan method thereof are provided to conveniently search for a channel by receiving a homing frequency signal. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(101) tunes and demodulates a broadcasting signal received from the outside, and a demultiplexing/decoding unit demultiplexes and decodes the decoded transport stream. An image processing unit(104) converts the decoded signal into a displayable signal. A control unit(105) performs a broadcasting signal reception operation and a channel searching operation. A memory(106) stores the attribution items for a homing frequency.
