PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing fermented extract of Zizyphus jujuba Miller leaves is provided to relieve skin irritation and inflammation. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for relieving skin irritation or inflammation contains fermented extract of Zizyphus jujuba Miller leaves as an active ingredient. The fermented extract is obtained by inoculating fermentation microorganism of Lactobacillus, yeast, or Bacillus to the medium containing Zizyphus jujuba Miller leaves, and fermenting at 20-40°C and Ph 5-7 for 1-7 days. The Zizyphus jujuba Miller extract is isolated using purified water, methanol, ethanol, glycerin, ethyl acetate, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, dichloromethane, or hexane.
