A manifolding correspondence assembly comprises a continuous assembly of stuffed envelopes produced from endless webs 10a, 22a, 30a, Fig. 4, subdivided into respective envelope face panels 10, insert sheets 22 and rear panels 30, the insert sheets 22I... 22III, Fig. 5, being provided with slot portions 26 which are bonded by adhesive stripes 25, 25a, 25b, 36 to one end portion of the face and rear panels 10, 30, whereby the free ends 221 of the insert sheets are located between lines of perforations 20, 40 and opposite end portion 37a, such that, when the end portion 37a is gripped by fingers in the region of arrows 45, 46 and the other end portion is gripped in the region of arrows 47, 48 and the envelope assembly is pulled apart, the insert sheets 22I ... 22III are severed from the stub portions 26 along lines of weakness 28 and the insert sheets are removed from the envelopes. In another embodiment in Fig. 15 the envelope assembly 70 is subdivided into a mailing envelope assembly 71 which contains a reply envelope assembly 72 and an insert sheet 53. The envelope assembly 90 is associated with a detachable file copy 50, from which data is transferred to the face panel 52 of the envelope by a transfer sheet 51 provided with a pressuresensitive transfer layer 511. The reply envelope assembly comprises a face panel 54 which is bonded to the subjacent rear panel 55 provided with a sealing flap 58 which is associated with a stub portion by a frangible line 57. In a modification the reply envelope may be opened along its longer marginal edge and the rear panel is provided with a sealing flap (55f, Fig. 18) which is folded over a face panel (54x) following removal of a waste strip (54e). In a further modification the reply envelope is made from two blanks (75, 76, Figs. 19, 20) one of which is subdivided into a front panel (75a) and a removable insert sheet (75b) and the other into a rear panel (76a) and a sealing flap (76b).
