<p>PURPOSE: A seawater intake system using a sand layer in the sea as filter is provided to ensure easy management by being installed in a single spot and to enable partial repair without influence on the total output. CONSTITUTION: A seawater intake system using a sand layer in the sea as filter comprises a tunnel/gutter(10), water collection pipes(21), a flow rate control valve(23), a water supply pipe(24) and a water pump. The tunnel/gutter is excavated to a specific depth in the seashore or a place near the seashore. The water collection pipes are installed from the tunnel/gutter to the sea to collect the seawater and located in a sand layer or crushed rock layer in the bottom of the sea to be filtered. The flow rate control valve is located on the end of each water collection pipe to control the flow rate of the filtered seawater from the water collection pipe. The water supply pipe and the water pump collect the filtered seawater from the water collection pipes and transfer the collected seawater to outside.</p> |
