PURPOSE: A heat pump system is provided to prevent the mixture of liquid coolant into a thermal medium even if a super-cooling condenser becomes damaged. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump system comprises a cooling cycle(10) and a defrosting unit(20). The cooling cycle comprises a compressor(11), a four-way valve(12), an indoor heat exchanger(13), an expansion valve for cooling(14), an expansion valve for heating(15), an outdoor heat exchanger(16), and another four-way valve that are successively connected through refrigerant pipes(17). A refrigerant intake pipe(18) is interconnected between the four-way valve and the compressor. A super-cooling condenser(21) is installed between the expansion valve for cooling and the expansion valve for heating. A heat-absorption heat exchanger(22) is installed in the super-cooling condenser and connected to a heat storage tank(23) through supply and return pipes(24a,24b) equipped with a circulating pump(25). A heat-radiation heat exchanger(26) is installed in the outdoor heat exchanger. The defrosting unit is connected to the return pipe through thermal medium and return pipes(27a,27b).
