发明名称 System zum Sortieren von Dokumenten
摘要 1,155,182. Feeding and delivering sheets. LUNDY ELECTRONICS & SYSTEMS Inc. 1 June, 1966 [1 June, 1965], No. 26439/68. Divided out of 1,155,181. Heading B8R. Documents are fed from a stack 50, Fig. 3, by a set of coaxial extractor rollers 53, and separator rollers 54, 55 rotate so that one (54) tends to feed documents forward while the other (55) tends to return documents to the stack. The speed of roller 54 may be greater than that of roller 55, or roller 54 may have a higher coefficient of friction than roller 55, or the hardness of roller 55 may be greater than that of roller 54. Each roller 54, 55 may be made up of a set of coaxial rollers, and a set of spring fingers may be disposed between the individual rollers 54 to urge a document against these rollers, the fingers also serving to guide documents towards rollers 54 rather than rollers 55. The stack 50 is urged against the extractor rollers 53 by a motor (not shown) which is intermittently energized by a switch 120 actuated when the top of the stack reaches a predetermined level. The front wall of the stack container acts as a metering plate, and the extractor roller assembly 52 can be swung about pivot 162 to facilitate loading of documents. A pair of rollers 56, 57 are situated downstream of rollers 54, 55 at less than the minimum document length from extractor rollers 53 to ensure that documents are positively driven through rollers 54, 55. Rollers 56, 57 also ensure that a document cannot be displaced laterally by registration section 46 until it is clear of the stack 50. The registration section comprises a plurality of rollers 60 co-operating with sprung metal idler rollers 170, the axes of rollers 60 being skewed so as to drive documents against a registration plate. The speed of rollers 60 is greater than that of the rollers 53, 54, 56. After passing magnetic charge and read heads 185, 187 under the action of knurled aluminium rollers 70, 71 driven by a synchronous motor, the documents pass to a belt transport system 80 acting as a speed transition section between the reading section 47 and a following sorting section operating at a lower speed. When documents are gripped by the rollers in the sorting section, slipping between the documents and belt 80 occurs, the material of belt 80 being specially chosen for this purpose. A number of lamp-photo-cell document detectors are spaced along the document path and feed signals indicative of the presence/ absence of documents thereat to logic circuits which are arranged to stop the feeding and transporting of documents if the document speed becomes too low or the spacing between documents becomes too small. Sorting section, Fig. 1, consists of a series of pockets 90 having individual gates 92 which are energized by pocket selection signals. Energization of the "0" pocket gate by the corresponding selection signal is effected directly, and energization of the next, " 1 " or "2," pocket gates is effected after a delay to allow for the transit time of the document. Energization of the gates for the remaining pockets " 3 "-" 9 " is under control of a circuit detecting coincidence of a pocket selection signal with arrival of the document at the corresponding gate 92 as detected by photo-cells 95 so that slippage and speed variation of rollers 81 can be tolerated.
