PURPOSE: A method for setting up a broadcasting receiver is provided to enable a user to select a desirable service range in a boundary region in which a user is able to select a desirable service range. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting up a broadcasting receiver comprises the steps of: obtaining the location information of a broadcasting receiver(S110); obtaining set information depending on the location information(S120); selecting a main region and a sub-region according to the indication of a user(S130); and setting up items necessary for reproducing a broadcasting signal by using the obtained set information according to the selected main region and the sub region(S140); and searching for a channel according to the setting information(S160).
