<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner having a structure of a cabinet separable into a back face plate and a cover covering the front side of the back face plate, enabling easy and secure detachment operation of the cover preventing the possibility of damaging a member and preventing deterioration of appearance. <P>SOLUTION: The cabinet 3 can be separated into the back face plate 9 and the cover 10 covering the front side of the back face plate 9, and in an upper part of either one of the back face plate 9 or the cover 10, an engagement claw 80 engaged with the other member from the inner face side is formed. The engagement claw 80 includes: an arm part 81 protruded toward the other member; a claw part 83 formed in the arm part 81; and a pressing part 82 pressing the arm part 81 with fingers. The other member includes: a claw receiving part with which the claw part 83 is engaged; and an opening 84 for exposing the pressing part 82.
