PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) having sufficient flameproof performance without deteriorating excellent merits of the MDF. SOLUTION: The flameproof MDF has flameproof performance equivalent to flameproof plywood. The flameproof MDF is formed by hot-press molding by adding an adhesive and a flameproof agent to defibrated woody fiber. The flameproof agent is composed of phosphoric acid compound, preferably phosphoric guanidine derivative as a main component. The flameproof agent of 2-10 wt.%, preferably 4-7 wt.% is added based on absolute dry weight of the woody fiber. In a method for manufacturing the MDF, the adhesive is added to the defibrated woody fiber for hot-press molding. The flameproof agent composed of the phosphoric acid compound is added before the hot-press molding. Preferably the flameproof agent is added simultaneously with the adhesive and in the same method as that of the adhesive in a high-speed blender. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
