PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent thermal influence of a generator-motor by intercepting muffler heat to the generator-motor. SOLUTION: In this hybrid construction machine, an engine 18, the generator-motor 19 and a hydraulic pump 20 are provided in a connected state in series in an engine room, and a muffler 25 is connected to an exhaust system of the engine 18. A muffler mounting bracket 26 is mounted astride flanges 22 and 23 provided on both sides of an axial direction of the generator-motor 19 and in an intercepting state of muffler heat by covering the generator-motor 19 from the above, and the muffler 25 is mounted on the muffler mounting bracket 26.
