<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the overheating state of heating means and to improve safety in a drum washing machine provided with a circulation pump. <P>SOLUTION: The drum washing machine includes: a water tub 1 which stores washing liquid; a bottomed cylindrical rotary drum 2 which is pivoted inside the water tub 1, houses laundry 4, and has many small holes 3 formed in the sidewall surface; a motor (driving device) 6 which rotationally drives the rotary drum 2; a water supply valve (water supply means) 14 which controls water supply into the water tub 1; a heater (heating means) 16 which heats the washing liquid; a circulation path 21 which circulates the washing liquid inside the rotary drum 2 from the bottom part of the water tub 1; and a water discharge and circulation pump (circulation pump) 17 provided in the circulation path 21. A circulation path entrance portion 18 communicating from the bottom part of the water tub 1 to the circulation path 21 is formed at the bottom part of the water tub 1 and the heater 16 is disposed in the inside.
