<p>A stereoscopic image display device (10) is configured in such a manner that a strip-shaped electrode facing a plate electrode (13) provided so as to face each other with a liquid crystal layer (18) of a liquid crystal lens array (12) interposed therebetween is arranged in such a cycle that end electrodes (142) are located at both ends of each liquid crystal lens and a central electrode (141) is located in the central portion of each liquid crystal lens in the pitch direction of the liquid crystal lens array, that the potential difference between the plate electrode and the central electrode is set to less than a leading edge voltage (Vth) of the liquid crystal layer, that a third voltage (V3) which is larger than a first voltage (V1) applied to the plate electrode and a second voltage (V2) applied to the central electrode and is larger than the leading edge voltage in the absolute value is applied to the end electrodes, and that when refractive index distribution is formed all over the thickness direction of each liquid crystal lens, and the length in the pitch direction of the liquid crystal lens array is set as 1, the width of the end electrodes is set as ws, and the width of the central electrode is set as wg, the relation of 0.075 < ws < 0.15, 0.15 < wg < 0.29 is satisfied.</p> |
