<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a failure and annoyance due to an operation error of a user, in a projection type image display device including a function of correcting image distortion. <P>SOLUTION: A projector includes an image distortion correction section for correcting distortion in projection image, and a remote controller for outputting an operation signal related to image distortion correction processing according to the operation of the user.
