<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the overheating state of heating means and to improve safety in a drum washing machine provided with a circulation pump. <P>SOLUTION: The drum washing machine includes: a water tub 1 which stores washing liquid; a rotary drum 2 which is pivoted inside the water tub 1, and has many small holes 3 formed in the sidewall surface; a motor (driving device) 6 which rotationally drives the rotary drum 2; a heater (heating means) 16 which is provided on the bottom part of the water tub 1 and heats the washing liquid; a circulation path 21 which circulates the washing liquid inside the rotary drum 2 from the bottom part of the water tub 1; a circulation pump 19 provided in the circulation path 21; a water discharge hose (water discharge path) 18 which discharges the washing liquid inside the water tub 1; and a water discharge pump 17 provided in the water discharge path 18. The lowest part of the opening surface of a circulation path entrance portion 20 which is an entrance to the circulation path 21 is disposed at a position higher than the top surface of the heating surface of the heater 16.
