<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a control method, and a program which allow packet data acquisition, in a plurality of image forming apparatuses by an operation to one image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 101 is provided with a data transmission/reception control section 301; a packet acquisition control section 303; and a packet acquisition section 305. The packet acquisition control section 303 performs instruction for acquisition start of packet data and instruction for acquisition end of the packet data to the packet acquiring section 305 of the image forming apparatus 101. In addition, the packet acquisition control section 303 transmits a request of the acquisition start of the packet data and a request of the acquisition end of the packet data to an image forming apparatus 102.
