PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a toner by which a toner composed of toner base particles whose surfaces are coated with resin fine particles in the form of a uniform film can be produced while suppressing generation of aggregates by preferably fostering filming of the resin fine particles deposited on the surfaces of the toner base particles. SOLUTION: The method for producing a toner includes: a resin fine particle deposition step S3b where resin fine particles are deposited on the surfaces of toner base particles in a powder passage; a spraying step S3c where, to the toner base particles and the resin fine particles in a flowing state, a liquid plasticizing these particles is sprayed; and a film forming step S3d where the toner base particles and the resin fine particles are circulated in the powder passage until the resin fine particles deposited on the toner base particles are shaped into a film. In the spraying step S3c, the liquid is sprayed in such a manner that an LEL (lower explosive limit) concentration coefficient within the powder passage falls in a range from 0.07 to 8.12.
