PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule type electrophoretic display medium panel which has high display brightness and good uniformity of display quality. SOLUTION: The display panel is obtained by stacking a transparent substrate 1, a transparent electrode layer 4, a microcapsule layer 10, an adhesive layer 16 and a back electrode plate 40, in this order. The microcapsule layer is directly stacked on the transparent electrode layer. When the mean particle diameters in any direction and another direction orthogonal to that of a microcapsule in the microcapsule layer, when observed from the visual recognition side, are defined as X and Y, respectively, the display panel has the following particle size distribution: the average particle diameter X is 35 to 45μm, the proportion of the microcapsule whose particle diameter is X<SB>1</SB>(X-20μm)≤X<SB>2</SB>(X+20μm) is≥80% in quantity, the proportion of the microcapsule whose particle diameter is <X<SB>1</SB>(X-20μm) is <20% in quantity, and the proportion of the microcapsule whose particle diameter is >X<SB>2</SB>(X+20μm) is <5% in quantity.
