PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner improving sound quality of fan sound, reducing noise and maintaining efficiency. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner K, air cooled or heated by a heat exchanger 7 is blown out to an indoor side by a cross flow fan 8. The cross flow fan 8 includes: a plurality of blades 8b formed so that their outer shape is changed along the rotating axis direction to have a wave form; and a casing 9 forming an air blowout air course from the cross flow fan 8 to the indoor side. Assuming that a straight line interconnecting tops of projections of the wave form is a tip of the blade 8b, when a difference of elevation of the wave form is represented as A, a clearance between the blade 8b and the casing 9 as B and a chord length of the blade 8b as L, a range of A×B<SP>0.5</SP>×L<SP>-1.5</SP>≤0.125 is achieved.
