PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECORDING MEDIUM EMBEDDED WITH INFORMATION

A processing apparatus for a recording medium embedded with information comprises: a passage mechanism (2) including a first passage (21), a loop passage (22) and a recording medium conveying roller (23), a first opening (22a) and a second opening (22b) of the loop passage being connected to a distal end of the first passage; a first guiding mechanism (41,42) for selectively communicating the fist passage with the first opening or the second opening of the loop passage; a processing device (3) including a magnetic head (31) and a printhead (32) provided in the first passage, the magnetic head being arranged at the side of a recording medium inlet/outlet which is adjacent to an initial end of the first passage. A processing method for the recording medium embedded with information is also disclosed. According to the processing apparatus and method for the recording medium, by utilizing the loop passage, the recording medium can be inverted automatically during moving. Therefore the two sides of the recording medium can be printed by one printhead. Thus overall processing of the recording medium embedded with information can be realized, and the cost of the apparatus is lowered.
