PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Y<SB>3-x</SB>Ln<SB>x</SB>Fe<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>powder material (wherein 0≤x≤2.5; Ln is an element of lanthanide series) of one ferrite material for generating heat in an AC magnetic field, the exothermic property of which is improved. SOLUTION: Each of the Y<SB>3</SB>Fe<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>powder material and the Y<SB>3-X</SB>Ln<SB>x</SB>Fe<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>powder material (wherein 0<x≤2.5; Ln is the element of lanthanide series) is used as a living body heating material, which is retained in a living body 10a and made to generate heat in the AC magnetic field to cauterize the affected part 10b. The Y<SB>3</SB>Fe<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>powder material is obtained by producing precursor powder by using yttrium nitrate and ferric nitrate as raw materials and firing the produced precursor powder at firing temperature.
