PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope inspection device for highly accurately inspecting whether elevator ropes are abnormal or not. SOLUTION: The rope inspection device 20 includes a base member 23. The base member 23 has a pair of upper rollers 21 and a pair of lower rollers 22. The pair of upper rollers 21 have a pair of roller members. The pair of lower rollers 22 also have a pair of roller members. These roller members are rotatable in a state of contacting with the ropes 10. On the base member 23, a detection unit 24 is mounted for magnetically detecting the ropes 10. The base member 23 is supported on a fixed side structure in an elevator shaft in a rockable but up-and-down non-movable manner by a connection unit 26.
