Provided is an anode for use in a lithium-ion secondary battery. Said anode comprises an active material layer, which contains an anode active material and a binder, on top of a collector. The anode active material contains an alloy active material and a carbon active material, and the weight ratio between the alloy active material and the carbon active material in the active material layer is between 20:80 and 50:50. The binder contains 0.1-15% by weight of a polymerization unit which is an ethylenically-unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer.
