The device (1) has an accessible chamber (3) provided with a spray nozzle (4) supplying lotion from a storage vessel (5) by a pump and is controlled by a valve. A sensor arrangement (6) is arranged in the chamber and connected with a processor-controlled monitoring and control unit (7), and comprises optical sensors (18) arranged in vertical rows (16, 17). The arrangement is provided with a charge coupled device camera (19) and detectable over shoulder height of a person to be sprayed. The nozzle is displaceable as a function of sensor signals in vertical and horizontal directions. An independent claim is also included for a method for spraying lotion to a person in an accessible chamber of a device.
