A method for releasing local IP access connection includes that: when a local gateway is integrated with a wireless side network element, if the local gateway monitors that a local IP access connection of a user needs to be released, the local gateway or the wireless side network element informs a Mobility Management Element (MME) to release the local IP access connection of the user via an interface between the wireless side network element and the MME; after receiving the information, the MME releases all information associated with the local IP access connection of the user. A system and a network device for releasing local IP access connection are also disclosed in the present invention. The present invention can realize to release local IP access connection in the case that a local gateway is integrated with a wireless side network element or a Home Base Station gateway, and the interfaces of S5, S11 and Gn are not provided?
