摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus of high image quality by suppressing the maximum consumption current of the image reading apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus (100) includes a plurality of sensor IC chips (122a-122l) arranged in a columnar formation, and they are sectioned into two or more blocks. Common clock pulse signals (CLK) are inputted to the respective sensor IC chips (122a-122l) and analog output signals (A1-A6) are individually outputted for the respective blocks. Start pulse signals (SP1-SP6) are individually inputted for the respective blocks, and the start pulse signals (SP1-SP6) are inputted in common to the sensor IC chips within the same block. Contrary to the start pulse signal (SP1), the start pulse signal (SP2) is delayed and inputted.
