PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication system which is capable of, in a system including a master unit and a slave unit between which various pieces of information are transmitted and received by radio communication, ensuring that a user of the master unit and a user of the slave unit are identical and securing the security of input biometric authentication information in a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The master unit and the slave unit include biometric authentication information input means of the same system. Biometric authentication information inputted by the master unit and that inputted by the slave unit are collated with each other, and the use of an apparatus is permitted if it is confirmed that they have been inputted by the same person. Either of biometric authentication information input to the master unit and that to the slave unit is performed first. After biometric authentication information is inputted by one unit, biometric authentication information is inputted by the other unit within a fixed time.
