PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To authenticate a user based on an authentication result obtained in the past according to a relation between the users when an external authentication device cannot be used. SOLUTION: This authentication device 10 holds user management information associated with the other user information in each of one or a plurality of pieces of user information, acquires the authentication information of the authentication-objective user from an image processor 20, conducts authentication based on the acquired authentication information, retrieves the user information from the user management information based on the user information of the authentication-objective user when authenticated, and transmits authentication result information including the authentication result of the authentication-objective user, and the retrieved information to the image processor 20. The image processor 20 receives the transmitted authentication result information, manages a history of the authentication result in each user information piece based on the received authentication result information, determines the propriety of using the image processor based on the received authentication result information, and further determines the propriety of using the image processor 20 based on the authentication result obtained in the past managed as to the authentication-objective user when not permitted to use the image processor 20.
