PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organometallic complex having a relatively large hydrogen adsorption/release amount in a temperature range around room temperature. SOLUTION: The organometallic complex represented by [Cu<SB>2</SB>(pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate)<SB>2</SB>]<SB>n</SB>is formed by bonding a plurality of Cu<SB>2</SB>(pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate)<SB>2</SB>repeating units to each other. The crystal system of a unit cell of the organometallic complex belongs to a hexagonal crystal system. In the organometallic complex, in a plane formed by the a- and b-axes, a plurality of cavities (spaces) in which atoms are not closely packed exist. The cavities have a pore shape whose opening diameter and inside diameter are severalÅ, and Cu atoms, O atoms and N atoms are exposed to the inner surfaces of the cavities. The cavities function as hydrogen adsorption sites. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
