PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase bonding strength with an image pickup device even in structure for bonding the rear face of the image pickup device to the side face of a support opening. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: a lens unit; the image pickup device 43 for making an optical axis of the lens unit coincident with the center normal line on a light reception surface; and a fixing frame plate 21 for fixing the image pickup device 43 for connecting to the lens unit. In the imaging apparatus, the fixing frame plate 21 has an opening, the image pickup device 43 is incorporated into the opening, and an adhesive bonds and fixes the rear of the image pickup device 43 onto an inner wall of the opening of the fixing frame plate 21.
