PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a double-layer liquid crystal element having layers each of which is efficiently supplied with two kinds of liquid crystals in a strip state. SOLUTION: The side of a first liquid crystal layer 16 includes a guard seal 33 for surrounding an injection hole 20 of a first seal 17 in a strip state. When one kind of liquid crystal is injected to form a second liquid crystal layer 19 as a first stage, the liquid crystal is prevented from entering the first liquid crystal layer 16 side by the guard seal 33. Then, the injection hole 22 on the side of the second liquid crystal layer 19 is sealed with a sealing material 23, to remove the guard seal 33, and the second kind of liquid crystal is injected to form the first liquid crystal layer 16. The liquid crystal is prevented from entering the second liquid crystal layer 19 side because the injection hole 22 of a second seal 18 is sealed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
