PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling combustion capable of preventing incomplete combustion in a combustion device for a long time. SOLUTION: When a fan motor is electrically driven with prescribed impressed voltage and prescribed driving current to achieve a prescribed rotational frequency according to a predetermined relational expression or relational table to obtain an air volume of supplied air necessary for satisfying requested heat quantity required on a moment-to-moment basis at a combustion section (step 55, 56, 57), actual driving current as a value of driving current actually applied to the fan motor is detected, air volume-equivalent heat quantity which should be originally obtained at the time of the value of the actual driving current detected at that time, is determined (step 58) on the basis of the predetermined relational expression or relational table for normal combustion in the combustion section, and driving current of a fuel flow rate control valve is controlled on the basis of the determined air volume-equivalent heat quantity (step 59).
