<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for selling copyrighted work that can achieve both protecting copyrighted work and promoting their circulation. <P>SOLUTION: For a client terminal that has obtained the encrypted data of copyrighted work, a management server performs authentication based on the additional information of the copyrighted work. After the authentication, the encrypted data is decrypted at the client terminal to create readable copyrighted work. Also, copyrighted work data is re-encrypted to create a file for distribution to clients. Also, the purchase price of the copyrighted work is surely collected from a client who has obtained the copyrighted work.
