PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for suppressing horizontal band noise of high luminance by external flash light, and for outputting image whose continuity as a moving image is improved. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 100 includes: an imaging part 1 which can output a video signal in a frame unit by imaging a subject image; a flash detecting part 3 for detecting external flash light; a frame averaging part for adding the video signal of one frame output by the imaging part 1 to a video signal of at least one frame of the same number before and after the video signal; and a selecting part for switching the video signal output by the imaging part 1 and the video signal output by the frame averaging part and outputting the switched video signal when the flash detecting part 3 detects the external flash light. Thereby, horizontal band noise of high luminance by the external flash light is suppressed, and an image, whose continuity as a moving image is improved, can be obtained.
