<p>A paper handling apparatus (10) is equipped with a loop consisting of a transfer path (32h) which can reserve a bundle of papers (P1) while transferring, and a detection unit (36b) installed on the transfer path (32f) at a position on the upstream side of the loop and detects at least a sheet of paper (P2) which is transferred to the loop. When the detection unit (36b) detects at least a sheet of paper (P2), a control unit (60) so controls drive units (45b, 45c, 45d) as to combine the detected paper (P2) and the reserved bundle of papers (P1), so that a specific position of the detected paper (P2) and a specific position of the bundle of papers (P1) reserved in the loop have a predetermined positional relation, and then the combined papers (P1, P2) are reserved in the loop. After the detected paper (P2) and the reserved bundle of papers (P1) are combined, the control unit (60) controls the drive units (45b, 45c, 45d) to accelerate the combined papers (P1, P2) at least in the loop.</p> |
