PURPOSE: A compound for material labeling and a method for preparing the same are provided to prevent generation of by-products and to ensure long-term storage. CONSTITUTION: A compound for material labeling, tautomer of the compound, or salt thereof is denoted by chemical formula 1c. The material is a biomolecule, nanoparticle, or organic compound containing an amine group, hydroxy group, or thiol group. The biomolecule is a protein, peptide, carbohydrate, saccharide, lipid, antibody, or siRNA. A method for preparing a compound of chemical formula 1 is performed by reacting a compound of chemical formula 5a or 5b or mixture thereof with a compound of chemical formula 6.
