<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding a rice ball by which a rice ball is formed so that the inside of the rice ball is soft and has puffy feeling while the surface of the rice ball has handmade feeling and is firm. <P>SOLUTION: The method for molding a rice ball comprises: a process for transferring a sheet-like cooked rice R on the side of a tuck-in panel 5 from a cooked rice-transferring mechanism; a process for tucking in the sheet-like cooked rice R to be formed into a prescribed shape using the tuck-in plate 5 and simultaneously closing both of the opening edges of the tuck-in plate 5; a process for inserting the sheet-like cooked rice R after being subjected to tuck-in molding into the rice ball-molding hole 6a of a molding table 6; a process for molding the cooked rice with a mold of the longitudinal molding table 6; and a process for rotating the molding table 6 to a discharging position for discharging the molded rice ball from the rice ball-molding hole 6a. In the process for tucking in and molding the sheet-like cooked rice R with the tuck-in plate 5, both of the right and left tucked-in pieces 5a, 5b are respectively tucked inside by a link mechanism 35 through a center surface 5c to mold the sheet-like cooked rice R into an almost triangular shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
