<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for efficiently removing snow and ice adhering to the blade portion of a vertical axis wind turbine. <P>SOLUTION: A solar cell 2 is attached to the surface of the blade 10 of the wind turbine 1. Power-generating operation exteriorly supplying both electric power generated by solar light by the use of the solar cell 2 and electric power generated by wind power by the use of a generator 3, and heat-generating operation supplying the electric power generated by the generator 3 to the solar cell 2 in order to allow the solar cell 2 to develop heat, are exclusively switched by opening/closing control over DC contactors 51, 52. When performing the power-generating operation, highly-efficient hybrid power generation by the wind power and solar light is performed; meanwhile, when performing the heat-generating operation, the solar cell 2 is used as a heating element to thereby effectively remove the ice and snow adhering to the blade 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
