<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that can be made compact and high in output. <P>SOLUTION: The projector 1000 has a gain region 180 provided, in a predetermined direction oblique to a perpendicular P to a first surface 140 on the side of a first plane 107, linearly from the end surface 140 to an end surface 142 on the side of a second plane 109 in plan view from a lamination direction of an active layer 108. The end surface 142 on the side of the second plane 109 is orthogonal to the predetermined direction in plan view from the lamination direction of the active layer 108, and also provided with a reflecting part 150, part of light generated in the gain region 180 being reflected by the end surface 142 on the side of the second plane 109 to be projected from the end surface on the side of the first plane 107. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
