PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferentially use a recording medium of a high degree of calibration precision when a plurality of arbitrary recording media are registered for calibration. SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus includes, for example, adding means, storage means, determination means and calibration performing means. The adding means performs addition processing to add an arbitrary recording medium as a recording medium usable for the calibration. The storage means stores characteristic information indicating characteristics of each of a plurality of the arbitrary recording media added by the adding means. The determination means determines an arbitrary recording medium relatively approximate to the characteristics of the recording medium identified in advance by comparing the characteristic information of each of a plurality of the arbitrary recording media with the characteristics of the recording medium identified in advance.
