PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can perform highly accurate temperature detection using a non-contact type temperature detection device and keeps it maintenance-free. SOLUTION: A plurality of suction holes (220) are provided at the outer peripheral surface of a drawing drum 44. Suction pressure to suck a recording medium (14) is generated in suction holes in drawing areas immediately under inkjet heads 48Y, 48C, 48K and 48M. After the recording medium is delivered to a delivery drum 52, air is blown out from the suction hole so that ink mist or the like stuck in the suction hole may be discharged, and then a light receiving surface of a temperature sensor 206 is cleaned by a cleaning wind blown to the light receiving surface of the temperature sensor 206 from the suction hole. An existing constitution is utilized for a constitution to blow the cleaning wind to the light receiving surface and a constitution to switch the suction and the discharge.
