A composition comprises 99À7 to 70% of an oxymethylene polymer and 0À3 to 30% of a copolymer of 50 to 99% of anα-olefin and 50 to 1 % of an alpha-beta-unsaturated acid, at least some of the acid groups having been neutralized with a mono-, di- or tri-valent metal prior to or after polymerization. The copolymer may be a graft polymer of the acid on the preformed polyolefin; the copolymer may also contain acid ester groups. The unsaturated acids may be acrylic, methacrylic, maleic, fumaric and itaconic. The compositions may be obtained by mixing above the melting-point of the oxymethylene polymers. In the examples a formaldehyde homopolymer esterified with acetic acid and a trioxan-ethylene oxide copolymer are mixed with an ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer and a graft copolymer of acrylic acid on polyethylene neutralized in each case with sodium hydroxide.
