<p>The device has rigid carrier component (14) enclosing heart (10), and multiple chambers (24) provided at an inner side of the component, where the chambers are inflated in a pulsating manner and drained by a pump. The carrier component bulges externally around 1 mm during operation of the device and made of plastic i.e. polyether ether ketone (PEEK), or metal such as titanium, nitinol or shape memory alloy. The carrier component is designed as a connection component that is made of plastic with metal reinforcement, where the carrier component exhibits a cup shape. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a carrier component and/or chambers of a heart support device.</p> |
