<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a larger power saving effect by separately controlling clocks between a physical layer portion and a media access control portion in accordance with data to be communicated. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: a physical layer portion 91 for performing auto negotiation with a hub; a media access control portion 92 for receiving reception data, a reception clock of the reception data, a transmission clock of response data from the physical layer portion and transmitting response data to the physical layer portion ; a communication clock control portion 95 for controlling clock frequencies of the reception clock and the transmission clock; a processing portion 93 connected to the media access control portion through a system bus to perform various operation processing about image formation; and a processing clock control portion 94 for controlling the clock frequency of a processing clock of the processing portion, wherein the communication clock control portion stops the transmission clock when the media access control portion does not transmit response data to the physical layer portion for a prescribed time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
