PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a user to perform an operation for processing about electronic paper more simply than before.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 is provided with: an electronic paper state detection portion 104 that detects a state of electronic paper 2 placed on a predetermined location in the vicinity of the image forming apparatus 1, such as a paper output tray 10; a print data generation unit 105 for generating print data 72 for displaying an image in accordance with the detected state; and a print data transmission unit 106 for transmitting the print data 72 to the electronic paper 2.
