<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of excellently guiding a catheter. <P>SOLUTION: In the guide wire 1000, an operation cable 1200 freely slidably inserted to the hollow inside of a freely bendable hollow wire body 1100 is eccentrically connected at a distal end, the proximal end part of the operation cable 1200 is slid and moved by a bending operation mechanism 1300 and at least the distal end part 1110 of the wire body 1100 is bent. The guide wire 1000 is inserted to a tubular catheter 2000 and utilized as the catheter system 100.
