PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system for vehicles which can appropriately distribute information about a region which may possibly relate to traffic congestion. SOLUTION: A navigation device 1 acquires traffic information including at least either one of weather information and event information from a broadcasting facility 3 by radio communication. Based on at least either one of the weather information and event information included in the traffic information thus acquired, determination is made as to whether telematics information provided from a distribution server 5 through a mobile communication network 4 is downloaded or not, and when the telematics information is determined to be downloaded, this information is downloaded through the mobile communication network 4 and a communication terminal 2.
