PURPOSE: A whole body counter for discrimination between the internal and external radioactive contamination of a human body is provided to improve the accuracy in measurement of radioactive contamination. CONSTITUTION: A whole body counter for discrimination between the internal and external radioactive contamination of a human body is configured as follows. Front upper and lower radioactivity measuring units(3a) are installed on the front side of a measurement room(2). Rear upper and lower radioactivity measuring units(5a) are installed on the rear side of the measurement room, corresponding to the front upper and lower radioactivity measuring units. Right/left upper and lower radioactivity measuring units(4a) are on the right and left sides of the measurement room, corresponding to the front/rear upper and lower radioactivity measuring units.
