<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte optimizing the characteristics of a secondary battery such as cycle characteristics, reservation characteristics and the like, and to provide the secondary battery using this electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte for secondary battery contains an aprotic solvent that at least an electrolyte is dissolved and a compound expressed by formula (1).
